Found this forum a couple days ago while searching for something (a game, I believe) and after looking at a few posts, I liked the general tone of the place and so now I've joined up. Looking forward to some decent discussions about games that aren't, "this is bad, therefore it is bad and that's it. NAH NAH NAH!" fests.

Seems a bit quiet around here, though? Maybe the party's in the wee hours right about now?

Anyway, that's my two pence. :-)

I'm also new to the forum, and this is my first post.  I like the angle of examination and discussion that seems to be the norm among this site's members, which as you mentioned is a good deal more incisive than "GAME X SUXXOR" or even, on the less extreme end, the currently fashionable means of reviewing a game, which consists in a paraphrase of what it says on the back of the box.  I'm currently playing through Chrono Trigger and reading along on the threads, in a kind of self-designed and -imposed course of indoctrination into this site's culture.  I may pick up Loom, the game that VGC is apparently on currently, but I don't think I'll be able to catch up at this point, so hopefully I can join in on the next discussion!  Look forward to playing along in the future!

Welcome to both of you! Yeah, it's been a little quiet recently; things come and go in waves a bit, and I think some people are still recovering from the end-of-year glut, but with the right game it will pick up a lot. And it's actually not too late to join in with Loom if you're interested - I'm only three or so hours in myself.

Thanks for the encouragement.  I am, as I said, working my way through CT.  I have brought Chrono back to life, and now I am working my way through the sidequests, in preparation for, as I understand it, the final show-down with Lavos.  However, I will go ahead and see how far I can get in Loom, to see whether I might be able to participate in the currently ongoing game.

EDIT:  I see that the default background color isn't white.  I think that in the future, I should write out my post in its entirety, then blank out spoilers, rather than write a spoiler, shade it in black, then shade subsequent text in white.

Hello there, Mark. Nice to see you on here.

As you've probably guessed, this forum is a pretty quiet one. Not too much activity on here normally but every now and again a member will start a discussion and the place gets busier. Maybe start one of your own? Have a nice time on here.

Dex

Hi everyone, also new here. I was going to start a thread introducing myself, but it seemed more appropriate to join the party in here. This forum/club seems like a great idea, and I'm glad to have an excuse to go back and play some older, classic games that I just never got around to playing at the time. I'm a fairly PC-centric gamer, but I never had access to one when I was younger so I missed many of the classics from before the mid-nineties.

Great to meet you all!
