I'm starting this thread for two reasons:
1) On twitter last night, michelmcbride claimed that Iwazaru's speech is highly distorted English.
Do others agree? I can't tell when listening to it - some bits sound like English, some bits sound like Japanese, sometimes I think I'm hearing him say 'Magister' when the screen says 'Master'.
2) The name 'Iwazaru' rung a bell, so I looked it up: it's the name of the "speak no evil" monkey of the Three Wise Monkeys.
Which explains why he's always holding his finger over his lips; though I certainly don't get the impression that he's particularly avoiding speaking evil, he certainly has enough negative to say about the various personas...
What other names have interesting sources? Given the capitalization of KAEDE's name, I have to wonder if it's supposed to be foreign as well; looking it up in Japanese, it can apparently mean "maple tree" or at/for/per or something related to returning or substituting; none of those immediately leap out at me as directly relevant, but maybe somebody who actually knew Japanese would be able to seize on some resonance of the name.
