This area really confused me at first, what with the packs of feral ghouls that attack you and all. In most towns, once the "general population" turns hostile towards you, there's no going back and the quests are lost to you, so I thought I had done something to piss them off. Of course, after fighting my way through the underground, I met the friendly ghouls and all was well.

This also marks my first ever super mutant encounter. I failed to bluff my way past, and got my entire party roasted in two rounds. I managed to unload three bursts at point blank range into one of them to no avail. Needless to say, it made a huge impression.

Thinking about it now, I suppose that's one reason why I'm so turned off by the super mutants in Fallout III. In that game, they're just another set of mooks for you to kill at your leisure. In this game, and the sequel, a single super mutant can dominate the battlefield. Plus, the "orange orc" asthetic is pretty uninspired. I want my super-mutants to lumber, damnit!

The super muties are a bit of a pain here, yeah. I always try to go after The Hub, and I always find myself having trouble with the fights. It's probably wiser to go through the Boneyard first, but I never do!

Ahhh, Fallout interface. Half an hour spent trying to figure out how to connect the pump with the junk. Says it needs a fuse, I don't have a fuse? Oh, it's in the junk. Use the inventory button on the pump, then click on the junk with the hand, not the arrow. Yeesh. Well, what's done is done. I saved the 6 ghouls in the sewers, after slaughtering 25 or more above. +rep for me!

But the ones you slaughtered had red outlines! It's ok! It's really ok!

Oh, I don't have the perk that tells you good or bad. The entire world has a red outline....
