So here we have the turning point for the Prince as a character. I think by the time he gets to the prison, he's a different person than before. He's now aware of what an insulated spoiled brat he was before, and how much he doesn't know about the outside world. His arc isn't complete, however, until the confrontation at the hourglass - even after everything they've been through, he distrusts Farah. Not because of anything she's done, but because it's what his princely upbringing says she should do. That last little voice inside telling him to be wary of her because she was an enemy is the last part of his old self that needs to be overcome.
Only he gives in. He listens to it, betrays Farah, and almost gets everyone killed.
Again.
In the dark of the tomb, he finally realizes that EVERYTHING that has transpired is his fault, and he just threw away his chance to make it right because he just couldn't shut that voice up.
